Floating shelf support rods in a stud mount format allow for a thinner profile floating shelf. Federal Brace Stud Wrap shelf support rods come in two lengths for varying depths of floating shelves. The 0.50" rod arm is attached to a .25" thick mounting plate. Installation should be every 16" for the length of your shelf. Each rod will have a carrying capacity of 100 pounds. The shelf must not be more than 2" deeper than the end of the rod to avoid seeing deflection.
